Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students

The Department of Higher Education is working on the central sector scheme of scholarships for colleges and universities. Whenever the government imposes a centre-sector scheme, it means that the ratio of investment in the scheme is 60:40 between the centre and the state. However, it becomes 90:10 in the northeastern and Himalayan 8 states.

The initiative is under the Ministry of Education. This scheme is for Class 12 students who want to pursue college or university. This scheme’s aim is to improve the dropout ratio in colleges. It provides financial assistance to students whose family background is poor. The selected candidates will receive scholarships of about 20,000 rupees per year for their academic expenses.

Scholarships for Class 11–12 Students

Aspire Scholarship Programme 2023–24

SWAYAM Charitable Trust supports underprivileged students who want to pursue their careers in B.Tech. courses. However, it is only available at 11 engineering institutions across India. The Aspire Scholarship Programme is a CSR initiative. CSR means Corporate Social Responsibility. It is an economic term that has to be followed by the organisation whose total revenue is more than 500 crore.

Under this programme, students can get money for the expenses of tuition fees, hostel fees, food, etc.

PM YASASVI Entrance Test (YET) 2023

This scheme is led by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) for OBC, EBC, and DNT category students. However, this initiative is only for top schools recognised by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. It is intended for students in 9 to 11 standard. Under this scheme, a total of 30,000 candidates will receive financial assistance for academic purposes.

KVPY: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is led by the Department of Science and Technology, under the government of India. However, This initiative mainly focuses on science stream students. Students who want to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the science stream Even 11th and 12th students who get admission in the science stream would be eligible for the scholarship.

Moreover, students who join B.Sc., B.S., M.Sc., etc. science as their graduation field require a minimum of 60% marks in the class 12 board examination. The selected candidates would receive 7,000 rupees per month and a contingency grant.

AICTE-Saksham Scholarship Scheme

Gujarat Scholarship Scheme

The Gujarat government has proposed an initiative to help students who want to pursue the competitive examination. Within certain criteria, the government of Gujarat provides Rs. 20,000 to each candidate for the coaching of the exams. Financial assistance helps underprivileged students who want government jobs.

SAMBHAVAM Scheme for the IAS Coaching

This scheme is led by the Sood Charity Foundation in collaboration with the Divine India Youth Association (DIYA). It is mainly focused on UPSC and IAS coaching. The selected students get FREE online IAS coaching.
